I love making gingerbread houses. They are an artistic release for me. I haven't made one for years until last Christmas. It helps to be retired. These houses are made from scratch and take many hours to decorate.
Seems (Seams) likely I will be sewing now that I am retired. I also enjoy other hobbies and crafts. This blog is a journal of some of my projects.

You Take the Cake!
In looking through my photos I came across some of the cakes I have made for special occasions.
This cake was a fun birthday cake for my grandson, Daniel. Since his birthday is the day before Halloween, Frankenstein was a perfect choice!

One year Daniel requested a volcano cake. I made it with a glass container in the crater. We were able to add water and dry ice for an amazing eruption. I love these adorable grandchildren.
Since Samuel's birthday is the day after Halloween, we often celebrate Daniel and Sam's birthdays at the same party. I made this monkey cake for Sam's first birthday. He really loved the cake. The photos are hilarious. What a little monkey he is!!!

Happy Halloween!
I made a dozen table runners. Eleven were given away to family members. I burned out after quilting eleven of them. Mine still needs quilting. The only positive is that my table runner will probably look better then the other eleven. I will be able to quilt it on my long arm machine. It is much easier to quilt on a long arm than a regular machine. My quilting skills have improved during the past year.

Franklin's Scooter Quilt
Adorable little Franklin's parents love vintage Lambrettas.
This fabric seemed like a great choice for their beautiful sweet baby.
Best Costume Award
I have been sewing dance costumes for years. I wish I had photos of many of them. My daughter requested that I make three costumes for my granddaughter, Lauren, and her two friends for dance competition this last school year. My daughter designed the costume. I had to create the pattern. We were thrilled with the results. The costumes actually won a trophy for "Best Costume."
Longarm Quilting Machine for my Birthday!
I got a Baby Lock Crown Jewel for my birthday. This quilt was my first machine quilt. The pattern was chosen by my daughter-in-law, Christina. She liked it on Pinterest. I was pretty pleased with the finished quilt. It is especially adorable with my grandson, Makoa lounging on it!
Joe Shmow's Quilt
My son had a great handbar mustache.
When I saw this cute mustache fabric I just had to make him a quilt.
